Control Data Institute
Would you like to make this site your homepage? It's fast and easy...
Yes, Please make this my home page!
I Graduated from Control Data Institute of Technology in Anaheim, California in 1986.
I started out trying to find a logo from CDI to use on this webpage and realized that it is very
difficult to find any information about CDI at all. What I did find is that the school was established
in the United States in 1965, and was closed in 1989.
Tucked away in the dark recesses of my parents attic, is a large stack of text books from Control
Data Institute. I remeber them taking up the entire bottom shelf of my bookcase, a full set of 8½"x11"
paperbacks (perfect-bound), spanning about 3 feet wide. That's a lot of information to cover in under a year!
It was, however, full time school. I believe we attended school about 6 hours a day 5 days a week.
We covered everything, including (What I can remember):
- OHM's Law
- Resistor and component Identification (color band decoding)
- Logic Gates(AND, OR, XOR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XNOR)
- Tracing circuits/signals through Logic Gates to predict output
- Binary and Hexidecimal Numbering systems
- Binary (machine language) programming of Intel 8080a micro-processor
- Soldering skills/techniques
- Reading and interpreting circuit diagrams
- Designing and trouble-shooting processor controlled circuits
- Hands on break/fix lab work on CDC Mini computer and components
That's about all I can remember right now. I'm sure there's more evading my memory.
Transcripts and school records can be obtained for $10.00 at the following address, and I
am currently attempting to obtain a copy of my transcripts. I'll post a copy when I receive it.
I have also been trying to find my certificate. I've lost track of it over the many years, jobs and
moves.
